Road Safety | Working Group
Considering the great impact of road safety on global mobility, particularly as the world shifts towards greener modes of transportation, it becomes increasingly imperative to assess the current state of road safety and champion its cause in India.
Mr. Jean Todt, United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, who has also been the President of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile and the CEO of Ferrari, advised to form a Working Group for Road Safety, which will understand it with the industry and stakeholders while working for saving lives.
Objectives
Policy advocacy: Recommend road safety policies, guidelines and regulations that the government can adopt to improve road safety.
Global best practices: Facilitate the exchange of best practices, including successful initiatives, awareness campaigns and technological advancements.
Awareness campaign: Coordinate international road safety campaigns and educational programs to raise awareness about safe driving practices and the importance of road safety.
Capacity building: Organize workshops, training programs and capacity-building activities for road safety professionals, law enforcement and government officials.
Research: Facilitate research projects through the Research Secretariat as well as in partnership with academic institutions to identify solutions for road safety challenges.
